Who are you?
I would describe myself as a curious artist who isn't not afraid of the boundaries of genres- Perhaps that comes from getting my degree in music and having several strict professors for quite some time. So many things inspire me- The Ronettes, PATD's Pretty Odd album, Laufey, Debussy, Poulenc, Ella Fitzgerald…But then it seemed like there were so many things I "wasn't supposed to do" because of the degree choice I made. So of course, after I was done with music school I went out and started doing them.
I like taking pop-punk ballads like "Terrible Things" and putting them in an arrangement with flute and piano, or making Lady Gaga go medieval-like in my cover of "Paparazzi". I also love making meditative feeling neo-classical tracks, and just going with the flow in original compositions. I plan to eventually release song singer-songwriter or spoken word poetry-type projects as well.
Where are you from?
The music scene here in the Toledo area is really lively and interesting. I see a combination of everything from punk and ska and metal to pop and classical instruments being added into the mix.
