From quirky ukulele orchestra to an extra-large rock band. That's the evolution Polly et les Quatre Snaar & Embrass made over the past 5 years. But the 10-piece band does still do what they once started out to do: bend well-known and lesser-known songs to their own ends.
Iron maiden never sounded so country.
Lady Gaga never sounded so polka.
The Black Keys never sounded so rootsy.
So strictly speaking, Polly et les Quatre Snaar & Embrass is a cover band, but the band manages to rework existing songs into their own authentic atmosphere and sound. Their repertoire ranges from the 40's to now, from ELO to The White Stripes and from hard rock to techno. The original always remains intact but is laced with a grain that typifies this band above all.
Meanwhile, they also made their first album with 1 of their own songs and 8 quirky covers. Their own song 'Bad Motherfucker' became the title track.
