Artist Name: SCXTTALYST
Who are you?
I’d describe myself as an adaptable artist. I started making music during the pandemic when there wasn’t much else to do, so I took the time to teach myself music production. I began by making type beats and trying to sell them, but when that didn’t take off, I shifted my focus to original compositions and uploading them to streaming platforms.
My first project was under the moniker SCXTT, where I released lofi and chill beats. That was a great era for me—the lofi community was super chill and supportive. I made a lot of online friends and connected with fellow producers from around the world. From 2022 to 2024, I consistently released music, and I eventually dropped my first (and last) lofi album titled Presence. After that, I hit a creative block in that genre, so I decided to take a break.
Now I’m back with a new moniker: SCXTTALYST—a mix of SCXTT and catalyst, symbolizing my transformation as an artist. My music is evolving, and I want it to spark emotion, change, and connection. My first release under this new identity is called BEFORE DAWN, and it's just the beginning of this next chapter.
Where are you from?
I'm Scott, and I'm from Bulacan, Philippines. The music scene here mostly revolves around local genres like OPM, rap, and indie, but there's not much representation for experimental or niche styles like mine. There aren't many prominent artists from this area, but that’s never been a problem for me. I’ve learned to carve my own lane, and I’m proud to represent where I’m from. Shout out to all the underground creatives out here doing their thing!
